Free Download Dr Sandeep Reddy, "Finish Your PhD !: The Proven Way"
English | 2017 | pages: 48 | ISBN: 1521436053 | EPUB | 0,8 mb
PhD students on average take about 4-5 years full time and seven years part-time to complete their studies. Many do not even complete and drop out of their studies. The PhD study period can be incredibly stressful and challenging; with many students feeling isolated and lost. The University system does provide support, but many times this system does not incorporate the student's views or needs. However, the PhD student experience does not have to be negative. There are certain steps that one can take to not only navigate the PhD process smoothly but also complete studies effectively and efficiently. These steps can be applied to any PhD pathway and are common to all disciplines. This book covers these steps, and the content is based on the author's experience of completing his PhD in 2.3 years (4.6 years part-time) while working full-time. While there are a few books to support PhD students; they are either dull or far removed from the student experience i.e. don't cover the necessary steps in the PhD process. This book addresses these gaps and is written in a clear and easy-to-read fashion. Also, the book outlines various PhD student scenarios to exemplify implementation of the author's advice.

Free Download Dan Saxon, "Fighting Machines: Autonomous Weapons and Human Dignity "
English | ISBN: 0812253558 | 2021 | 264 pages | EPUB, PDF | 2 MB + 2 MB
Lethal autonomous weapons are weapon systems that can select and destroy targets without intervention by a human operator. Fighting Machines explores the relationship between lethal autonomous weapons (LAWS), the concept of human dignity, and international law. Much of this analysis speaks to three fundamental and related problems: When a LAWS takes a human life, is that killing a violation of human dignity? Can states and non-state actors use LAWS in accordance with international law? And are there certain responsibilities of human decision-making during wartime that we should not delegate to machines?

Free Download Family Medicine: Principles and Practice 8th Edition
English | 2022 | ISBN: 3030544400 | 1919 Pages | True EPUB | 69 MB
Since the publication of the 7th edition of this book, there has been a remarkable increase in information in several clinical areas, including cardiology, immunology and oncology. This rapid knowledge expansion has led to practice changes for family physicians and other primary care providers. Patients are now discharged from tertiary care hospitals to their home communities with life sustaining left ventricular assist "heart pumps". Hepatitis C, once an incurable illness, is now routinely cured. Oncology treatment regimens are increasingly becoming ambulatory and individualized. The decreased cost and increasing availability of health monitoring devices will make it possible for physicians to remotely check on the health status of their patients in their homes. With the ongoing and worsening shortage of family physicians across the US, the practice model for family medicine in the future may tend toward a family physician supervising a cast of mid-level providers as they care for a panel of patients, versus the physician providing the majority of care. All of these changes will require practice pattern changes and a need for up to date sources of information for the family physician.

After Ralphs death, Lora begins a rapid decline into dementia, and Jill wrestles with the decision to move her from Santa Barbara to New York City. The Tuckers initially attempt to place Lora in a senior residence in New York, but when an apartment becomes vacant right across the hall from them, they grab it for Lora. Free Download Jo Chandler, "Fair Cop: Christine Nixon"
English | ISBN: 0522856853 | 2011 | 320 pages | EPUB | 848 KB
Honest and engaging, this memoir reveals the remarkable rise through police ranks of Australia's first female chief commissioner. A police officer for more than 35 years, Christine Nixon shares the pressures of a life in the public eye and coping with difficult aspects of the job, such as losing a colleague in the line of duty. Documenting a cultural shift in policing as well as in the role of women in Australia, this narrative portrays Nixon's eight year tenure as being characterized by her tough anticorruption stance, her frequently acrimonious relationship with the police association, and her high approval ratings with the Victorian public. Written from a unique point of view, this account explores one woman's personal and professional life.

Free Download Facing West: American Evangelicals in an Age of World Christianity By David R. Swartz
2020 | 320 Pages | ISBN: 0190250801 | PDF | 27 MB
In 1974 nearly 3,000 evangelicals from 150 nations met at the Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization. Amidst this cosmopolitan setting ―and in front of the most important white evangelical leaders of the United States ―members of the Latin American Theological Fraternity spoke out against the American Church. Fiery speeches by Ecuadorian René Padilla and Peruvian Samuel Escobar revealed a global weariness with what they described as an American style of coldly efficient mission wedded to a myopic, right-leaning politics. Their bold critiques electrified Christians from around the world. The dramatic growth of Christianity around the world in the last century has shifted the balance of power within the faith away from traditional strongholds in Europe and the United States. To be sure, evangelical populists who voted for Donald Trump have resisted certain global pressures, and Western missionaries have carried Christian Americanism abroad. But the line of influence has also run the other way. David R. Swartz demonstrates that evangelicals in the Global South spoke back to American evangelicals on matters of race, imperialism, theology, sexuality, and social justice. From the left, they pushed for racial egalitarianism, ecumenism, and more substantial development efforts. From the right, they advocated for a conservative sexual ethic grounded in postcolonial logic. As Christian immigration to the United States burgeoned in the wake of the Immigration Act of 1965, global evangelicals forced many American Christians to think more critically about their own assumptions. The United States is just one node of a sprawling global network that includes Korea, India, Switzerland, the Philippines, Guatemala, Uganda, and Thailand. Telling stories of resistance, accommodation, and cooperation, Swartz shows that evangelical networks not only go out to, but also come from, the ends of the earth.
