Values of American Society Manuscripts from the American Society Project I
Free Download Values of American Society: Manuscripts from the American Society Project I By Talcott Parsons, Winston White, Victor Lidz (editor), Helmut Staubmann (editor)
2016 | 311 Pages | ISBN: 3643907788 | PDF | 4 MB
The material in Values of American Society remains the principal resource for understanding Parsons' conception of value systems. His treatment of value systems has been much debated, although poorly understood, in considerable part because Parsons never published his full conception, developed only in these manuscripts. They continue to hold interest for social scientists, both for their carefully developed analytical scheme and for the resulting discussion of American culture and society.

Unpublished Manuscripts from 1951 to 2007
Free Download Unpublished Manuscripts: from 1951 to 2007 by Lars Hörmander
English | PDF | 2018 | 368 Pages | ISBN : 3319698494 | 166.15 MB
This book presents, for the first time, the unpublished manuscripts of Lars Hörmander, written between 1951 and 2007. Hörmander himself organised the manuscripts and also wrote the notes explaining their origins, presenting the material in the form he fully intended it to be published in. As his daughter, Sofia Broström, mentions in the Foreword, towards the end of his life, Hörmander "carefully went through his unpublished manuscripts, checking and revising each of them with his very critical eye, deciding what should be kept for posterity and what should be thrown out". He also compiled the complete bibliography of all his published mathematical works that is included at the end of the present book.

Jesus and the Manuscripts
Free Download Craig A. Evans, "Jesus and the Manuscripts"
English | ISBN: 168307162X | 2020 | 575 pages | EPUB | 24 MB
Jesus and the Manuscripts, by popular author and Bible scholar Craig A. Evans, introduces readers to the diversity and complexity of the ancient literature that records the words and deeds of Jesus. This diverse literature includes the familiar Gospels of the New Testament, the much less familiar literature of the Rabbis and of the Qur'an, and the extracanonical narratives and brief snippets of material found in fragments and inscriptions. This book critically analyzes important texts and quotations in their original languages and engages the current scholarly discussion. Evans argues that the Gospel of Thomas is not early or independent of the New Testament Gospels but that it should be dated to the late second century. He also argues that Secret Mark, like the recently published Gospel of Jesus' Wife, is probably a modern forgery. Of special interest is the question of how long the autographs of New Testament writings remained in circulation. Evans argues that the evidence suggests that most of these autographs remained available for copying and study for more than one hundred years and thus stabilized the text.

Medieval English Manuscripts and Literary Forms
Free Download Medieval English Manuscripts and Literary Forms (Material Texts) by Jessica Brantley
English | December 13, 2022 | ISBN: 0812253841 | True EPUB | 376 pages | 130 MB
In Medieval English Manuscripts and Literary Forms, Jessica Brantley offers an innovative introduction to manuscript culture that uses the artifacts themselves to open some of the most vital theoretical questions in medieval literary studies. With nearly 200 illustrations, many of them in color, the book offers both a broad survey of the physical forms and cultural histories of manuscripts and a dozen case studies of particularly significant literary witnesses, including the Beowulf manuscript, the St. Albans Psalter, the Ellesmere manuscript of the Canterbury Tales, and The Book of Margery Kempe. Practical discussions of parchment, scripts, decoration, illustration, and bindings mix with consideration of such conceptual categories as ownership, authorship, language, miscellaneity, geography, writing, editing, mediation, illustration, and performance―as well as of the status of the literary itself.
