Addressing Merleau-Ponty's work Phenomenology of Perception, in dialogue with The Visible and the Invisible, his lectures at the Collège de France, and his reading of Proust, this book argues that at play in his thought is a philosophy of "ontological lateness". This describes the manner in which philosophical reflection is fated to lag behind its objects; therefore an absolute grasp on being remains beyond its reach.

Fostering the Ontological Turn Gustav Bergmann (1906-1987)
Free Download Fostering the Ontological Turn: Gustav Bergmann (1906-1987) By Rosaria Egidi (editor), Guido Bonino (editor)
2009 | 274 Pages | ISBN: 3868380086 | PDF | 5 MB
Gustav Bergmann (1906-1987) was, arguably, one of the greatest ontologists of the twentieth century. In 2006 and 2007, after a period of relative neglect, international conferences devoted solely to Bergmanns work were held at the University of Iowa in the USA, Universit de Provence in France, and Universit degli Studi di Roma Tre in Italy. The fifteen papers collected in this volume were presented at the third of these conferences, in Rome, and are here divided into three sections: "Categories of a realistic ontology," "World, mind, and relations," and "Metaphysics of space and time".

Expanded Painting Ontological Aesthetics and the Essence of Colour
Mark Titmarsh, "Expanded Painting: Ontological Aesthetics and the Essence of Colour"
English | ISBN: 1350101990 | 2019 | 238 pages | PDF | 7 MB
The relevance of painting has been questioned many times over the last century, by the arrival of photography, installation art and digital technologies. But rather than accept the death of painting, Mark Titmarsh traces a paradoxical interface between this art form and its opposing forces to define a new practice known as 'expanded painting' giving the term historical context, theoretical structure and an important place in contemporary practice. As the formal boundaries tumble, the being of painting expands to become a kind of total art incorporating all other media including sculpture, video and performance.
